The Pass is one of those films that really needs to work. When applauding onstage, you would initially think it would be the only place where it could be successful. The installation does not appear to lend itself to opening up for almost cinema; because it maintains a very complex triple structure as a necessity, it has only four speech roles and there are only three places. Nonetheless, it’s a really good movie.
The film opened in Romanian hotel rooms. Here, two young footballers, Jason (Russell Tovey, who plays the stage) and Ade (Arinze Kane) are getting ready for a career the next day.
